Center Valley, Pa. (Apr. 9, 2018) - DeSales University (9-2) won two doubles matches and five singles matches in a 7-2 win over Alvernia University (1-7) Monday afternoon in non-conference women's tennis action at DeSales.
Alvernia claimed the No. 1 doubles flight with an impressive 8-1 win, but DeSales was able to take an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles and an 8-1 win at No. 3.
Junior Amanda Phillips took a straight set win at No. 2 singles for Alvernia. Â After a 7-5 win in the opening set and closed the match 6-1 in the second set.
Senior Cassandra Noray stormed out of the gate at No. 1 singles with a 6-0 win in the first set, but DeSales junior Kelly Nguyen won the second set in a tie-breaker and took the third pro set 10-5.
The Bulldogs took the final four singles flights in straight sets.
Alvernia continues the season Thursday at Arcadia.
