Reading, Pa (August 31, 2018) - DeSales University (1-0) scored two goals in the first half and two more in the second on its way to a 4-0 win over Alvernia University (0-1) in the season opener at Alvernia.
In a game that was delayed an hour due to storms, DeSales wasted no time getting out to an early lead. The Bulldogs struck first with a goal in the 10th minute, and scored the second one of the half 12 minutes later to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
The Bulldogs came out firing again in the second half, scoring two quick goals in a two minute span.
The Golden Wolves were out shot by just one, 13-12, but were held at bay by DeSale's goalie Haley Jacobs, who had seven saves on the night.

Alvernia opens up its road schedule on Sunday with a non-conference game against York at 12:00 PM.
