York, Pa (Sept 2, 2018) - York College (1-1) scored three goals in the second half en route to a 5-0 win over Alvernia University (0-2) during non-conference women's soccer action Sunday afternoon at York.
The Spartans opened the scoring late in the 15th minute of play, and took a 2-0 lead into the half with a second goal in the 33rd minute.
The Golden Wolves had shot opportunities from
Lauren Gough and
Annie Rose in the first half, but were unable to convert.
The Spartans added three goals in the second half, and were able to keep the Alvernia offense at bay - allowing just four shots in the final 45 minutes.
Lily Sankey and
Kayla Samero split time in goal for the Golden Wolves, with Sankey collecting six saves.
The Golden Wolves have nearly a week long break before continuing their 2018 schedule on the road on Saturday against Moravian.
