Reading, Pa (Sept. 24, 2018) - Four different players scored for Alvernia University (3-5-2) en route to a 4-0 win over Immaculata University (4-5-1) during non-conference men's soccer action on Monday night at Alvernia.
Alvernia freshman
Ethan LaVerdure opened up the scoring for the Golden Wolves in the ninth minute of play.
Trent Rider took an initial shot that was saved and deflected by the Mighty Macs keeper. LaVerdure gathered the rebound and fired a shot into net to give Alvernia the 1-0 advantage.
The Golden Wolves had nine additional shots in the first half, but were unable to convert and took the 1-0 lead into the break.
In the 56th minute, Alvernia went up 2-0 on an
Austin Young goal. Young received the ball from Orndorff and sent a shot into net for the Alvernia Goal.
Just under 20 minutes later,
Cody Hart added to the Alvernia lead with a goal following an initial rebounded shot taken by
Jay Ringer.
With just over two minutes remaining,
Taylor Kauffman sealed the 4-0 Alvernia win with another rebound goal for the Golden Wolves, with this rebound coming off an initial shot by
Gabe Hochenberger.
Alvernia allowed just one shot on goal, giving
Luca Grippi one save on the night.
Alvernia completes a three game homestand on Wednesday evening against Lancaster Bible College before hitting the road on Saturday for its final non-conference match of the season against Cabrini.
