Reading, Pa. (Sept. 26, 2018) - #9 Rowan University (9-0) scored two goals a half to take a 4-0 win over Alvernia University (4-5) on Wednesday night in non-conference field hockey action at Alvernia.

The Profs got on the board with just under 12 minutes remaining in the first half on a goal from Bridget Guinan that snuck into the left corner of the net. Six minutes later, the Profs added to their lead with a goal from Liz Fox to take the 2-0 lead into the break.

The Profs added two more in the second half with goals Krystyna Hovell and Julie Johnson to extended their undefeated season to 9-0.

Alvernia's offensive efforts were led by Erica Groves, who had two shots on goal. Keeper Nicole Heinze played all 70 minutes and collected a career high eight saves on the game.

The Golden Wolves resume their conference schedule on Saturday with a road contest against Widener University.
