BOX SCORE Collegeville, Pa. (Sept. 26, 2018) - Ursinus College (3-4-2) scored the only goal of the game in the 81st minute for a 1-0 win over Alvernia University (2-6-1) Wednesday evening in non-conference women's soccer action at Ursinus.
After a nearly two-hour lightning delay the teams played a scoreless game for more than 80 minutes until Mackenzie Groff blasted a shot off the crossbar that bounced down and into the net.
Alvernia was able to build pressure in the final three minutes getting a pair of shots, but Ursinus keeper Sabrina Doherty made a pair of saves to preserve the win.

Lily Sankey made four saves.
The Bears dominated the first six minutes of the game getting off five shots, but
Lily Sankey made saves on the two that were on goal. Â The Golden Wolves were able to generate some pressure later in the first half with
Annie Rose ripping a shot high off a corner from
Taylor Gough in the 30th minute and 10 minutes later Gough sending a shot wide.
Sankey had four saves in the opening half to keep the game scoreless at the break.
Alvernia returns home to face Gwynedd-Mercy University this Saturday.
