Radnor, Pa. (Sept. 29, 2018) - Cabrini University (4-51-) scored a game winning goal with just over three minutes left to play to take a 2-1 win over Alvernia University (4-6-2) in non-conference men's soccer action on Saturday afternoon at Cabrini.
The Cavaliers opened the scoring late in the 61st minute when Derrick Amoako beat Alvernia's
Luca Grippi on a one-on-one opportunity to give the Cavaliers a 1-0 lead.
Cabrini held the 1-0 lead for 24 minutes until the Golden Wolves tied it up in the 85th minute.
Ryan Kuster received a quick pass from
Braden Kreider and fired on goal to tie the game up at 1-1.
Just over two minutes later, and with over three minutes left to play, the Cavaliers broke the 1-1 tie when Nick Booth collected a loose ball in the box and converted for a goal. Â
Alvernia was unable to get a shot off in the final minutes and fell to the Cavaliers 2-1.
Grippi finished the game with two saves.
The Golden Wolves begin their MAC Commonwealth schedule on Wednesday evening with a home match against Lebanon Valley College.
