Reading, Pa. (Sept. 29, 2018) - Alvernia University (2-6-2) and Gwynedd Mercy University (3-4-3) played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday evening during non-conference women's soccer action at Alvernia.

The Golden Wolves opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a goal from Lauren Gough. Allison Hyde sent a quick pass in off the left post that Gough gathered and fired on goal to put Alvernia up 1-0.

Alvernia held its lead for nearly 20 minutes until Amanda Credidio took a shot for the Griffins. While trying to clear the shot attempt, an Alvernia defender redirected it into goal to tie the game up at 1-1.

The Golden Wolves had 13 shot opportunities, six of which were on goal, in the second half, and three during the two overtime periods, but were unable to break the tie.

Alvernia continues its MAC Commonwealth schedule on Tuesday with a home match against Lebanon Valley.
