Reading, Pa. (Oct. 1, 2019) - Alvernia University (2-8, 1-2) came from a set down in a 3-2 win over Hood College (1-18, 0-2) Tuesday evening in MAC Commonwealth Women's Volleyball action at Jack McCloskey Court.
Alvernia opened with a 25-18 win in the first set and Hood bounced back for a 26-24 win in the second set. The Blazers took the third 25-23 to pull ahead 2-1 in the match. Alvernia answered with a 25-14 win in the fourth set then won the first five points of the fifth set on the way to a 15-9 win.
Olivia Frutiger had a match-high 13 kills, and
Paige Stern and
Taylor Suto added a dozen each.Â
Alexis Schwenk had 52 assists and
Gabrielle DeLucca had 28 digs.
Alvernia continues the season hosting Rutgers-Camden on Saturday.
