Reading, Pa. (Oct. 17, 2019) - Alvernia University (3-10-3, 1-1-2) and Arcadia University (6-7-2, 1-1-2) played to a 1-1 draw on Thursday evening in MAC Commonwealth men's soccer action at Alvernia.
Alvernia got on the board in the 26th minute when
Trent Rider headed a ball to save it from going out the end line off the left post.
Noah Wright came charging in off the right post and quick kicked the ball into net.
The Knights tied it up just over 30 minutes later when Keegan Bower passed in to Duncan O'Connor and O'Connor fired into the bottom left corner of the goal.
Alvernia had two opportunities as time was expiring in regulation. The Golden Wolves got a shot off with just under five minutes remaining, but the ball was stopped by an Arcadia handball inside the box. Alvernia was then granted a penalty shot as a result of the red card.
Cody Hart fired to the right side of net, and Arcadia's Jake Varrato dove with it to make the stop.
The Golden Wolves had several looks in both overtimes, but were unable to convert.
Ben Solsky played all 110 minutes for the Golden Wolves, making five saves.
The Golden Wolves have the bye this weekend, but return to their MAC Commonwealth schedule on Tuesday at Lebanon Valley.
