Reading, Pa. (Oct. 2, 2019) - Junior McKenzy Lilliock had a pair of goals and junior Morgan Mondschein had two assists and goal to lead Alvernia University (6-5) to a 4-1 win over King's College (4-7) on Wednesday evening at Alvernia.

Lilliock opened up the scoring for the Golden Wolves early in the seventh minute. Mondschein sent a pass into Lilliock, who was positioned off the right post behind the keeper, and Lilliock directed the pass into net to put Alvernia up 1-0.

Just over a minute later, Mondschein broke away from the Monarch defenders, dribbled past the keeper and fired a shot in off the right post to put Alvernia up 2-0.

The Monarchs got back within one in the 20th minute when King's sent a ball in and it deflected off the stick of an Alvernia defender and into net.

Alvernia went back up by two in the 28th minute when Mondschein connected with Alyssa Krady to make ot 3-1.

The Golden Wolves added an insurance goal in the 45th minute with Erica Groves firing in a shot and Lilliock redirecting it into net. 

The Golden Wolves out shot the Monarchs 15-7, and held them to just three shots on goal.

Emma Beamesderfer played the entire game in net for Alvernia, making two saves.

Alvernia returns to its MAC Commonwealth schedule on Saturday when the Golden Wolves head to Lebanon Valley College for a 1:00 PM matchup.
