Owings Mill, Md. (Oct. 29, 2019) - Stevenson University (24-3, 6-1) won the final three sets for a 3-1 win over Alvernia University (3-13, 1-6) Tuesday evening in MAC Commonwealth women's volleyball action at Stevenson.
The Golden Wolves ran off four straight points late in the first set to take a 24-22 lead, but the Mustangs stormed back to tie the set at 24-all.
Taylor Suto pounded down a kill to put Alvernia back up a point and
Olivia Frutiger ended the set with a kill, 26-24.
The Mustangs stormed back in the second set winning 14 straight points in the middle of the set and leveling the match with a 25-4 win. They went up 2-1 with a 25-14 win in the third set and closed out the match 25-8 in the third.
Alvernia got a team-high nine kills from
Paige Stern and 15 digs from
Gabrielle DeLucca.
Alvernia closes out the conference schedule Thursday at home against crosstown rival Albright College.
