Wyomissing, Pa. (Nov. 16, 2019) - Lebanon Valley College (1-3-1, 1-1-1) held Alvernia University (2-4, 0-4) scoreless for two and half periods as they took the 4-1 win over the Golden Wolves on Saturday in women's ice hockey action at The Body Zone.
The Dutchmen got on the board first with a goal in the 15th minute and stopped 19 shots to take the 1-0 lead into the second period.
Lebanon Valley extended its lead to 2-0 on a power play goal in the second period.
After being shut out for just over 50 minutes, Alvernia got on the board with a power play goal of its own with 9:56 remaining in the game.

Abby Radcliffe on a power play, who buried a shot into net for the Golden Wolves.
Trailing 2-1 with about a minute to go, Alvernia pulled goalie
Julia Beaven to get an extra player on the ice. The Dutchmen took advantage of the empty net and were able to put a shot into net to go up 3-1.
With just eight seconds remaining and the net still empty, the Dutchmen were able to connect on their second empty net goal in 20 seconds to take the 4-1 win.
Alvernia outshot Lebanon Valley 46-32, but the Golden Wolves were only 1-for-12 on power play opportunities.
Beaven finished the night with 28 saves in net.
Alvernia returns to the ice on Friday night when the Golden Wolves head down to Stevenson University for a 7:00 PM game.
