Justin Thomas scored 32 points and
Malik Green added 23 to lead Alvernia University (2-2) to a 85-65 win over Penn College (1-3) in non-conference men's basketball action on Thursday night at Penn College.
The Golden Wolves jumped out to an early 6-0 following a made 3-pointer from Thomas and a layup and and-one from
Mickeel Allen.
Alvernia extended its lead to 10 points on another 3-pointer from Thomas with 12:45 remaining in the first half, and the Golden Wolves built their lead to 16 points going into the break.
Alvernia maintained its double-digit throughout the second half, and the Wildcats never got closer than 13 points.
Thomas led Alvernia's offensive efforts with 32 points. He was 11-19 from the field, including a 6-for-11 effort from beyond the arc. Thomas also added six boards and three steals on the night. Green was 9-for-13, including 4-for-7 on 3's, for 23 points. He added a team-high seven rebounds.
The Golden Wolves return to action on Tuesday at Penn State Berks.
