Frederick, Md. (Nov. 2, 2019) - Alvernia University ran its fastest team average in five years and finished 12th out of 14 teams at the Middle Atlantic Conference Women's Cross Country Championships Saturday at Utica District Park.
 
Paige McKenna led the way for the Golden Wolves finishing 70th in a time of 25:43.  Isabel Fries (75th, 25:53), Cassandra Renhert (84th, 26:10) and Kaitlyn Snyder (90th, 26:25) were all within 45 seconds of McKenna.
 
"The women put together their best team effort of the season at the right time,' said head coach Tim Hartung. "We did not come away with the team placing we were looking to achieve and recognize that we have to step up to the challenge of other teams getting better just as we have. Certainly a strong step in the right direction and I am excited for what future MAC Championships hold for this young team."
