Aston, Pa. (Nov. 8, 2019) - Neumann University (2-1, 1-0) scored the final three goals of the game in a 4-3 win over Alvernia University (2-1, 0-1) Friday evening in UCHC Women's Ice Hockey action at The Ice Works.

Alvernia stormed out of the gates with a power play goal 1:46 into the game then added an even strength goal 50 seconds later for an early 2-0 lead.

Abby Reisinger and Abby Zenone assisted Amber Steinhilpert on the first goal of the game and Olivia Gilida buried an assist from Abby Radcliffe for the second goal.

Neumann answered on the power play midway through the first period and the score was 2-1 Alvernia at the first intermission.

Alvernia converted another power play goal with Zenone scoring on assists from Gilida and Radcliffe and the Wolves were up 3-1 at the midway point.

Both teams finished the game 2-for-5 on the power play.

Neumann scored its second goal of the game at 12:55 of the second and added two more over the next four minutes to take a 4-3 lead with three minutes left in the second period.

Alvernia had 46 seconds of power play carry over to the third period, but couldn't convert then had to kill off a penalty which it did aided by a pair of blocked shots and two saves by Julia Beaven.

Neumann goalie Helen Cooney turned away three shots on an Alvernia power play then made two stops on shorthanded attempts later in the period.  The Wolves pulled the goalie with a minute left, but couldn't find the equalizer.

Zenone and Gilida finished with a goal and an assist each.  Beaven made 36 saves in net for the Wolves.
