Rye, N.Y. (Nov. 9, 2019) - Manhattanville College (1-1-1, 1-0) scored five goals in the second period of a 7-2 win over Alvernia University (2-2, 0-2) Saturday evening in UCHC Women's Hockey action at Manhattanville.
Abby Reisinger scored both goals for the Golden Wolves. She netted a power play goal--on the Wolves only opportunity of the night--at 14:21 of the first assisted by
Abby Zenone.
Alvernia held a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.Â
Isabelle Hovel made 13 saves in the first period for the Wolves to keep the Valiants off the board.
Manhattanville scored at 2:57 of the first on an even strength tally and added a second at 5:33. The hosts went up 3-1 at 7:42 and took a 4-1 lead at 9:43. They scored the final goal of the period at 17:35.
Alvernia managed just a pair of shots on goal in the second period and Taylor Elias turned away both.
Manhattanville scored twice in the third period bookending a goal from Reisinger assisted by
Alex Robertson and
Fiona Stewart.
Hovel finished with 43 saves for Alvernia.
The Wolves continue the season next Friday hosting Chatham College then have the first MAC game on Saturday when they host Lebanon Valley College.
