#4 Stevenson Takes 3-0 Win At Alvernia In MAC Opener

McGinley Leads Alvernia With Nine Kills

Reading, Pa. (Feb. 13, 2019) - Fourth-ranked Stevenson University (11-2, 1-0) held off Alvernia University (2-7, 0-1) in the MAC Men's Volleyball opener for both teams Wednesday night at Jack McCloskey Court.

Stevenson opened the match with a 25-15 win in the opening set then scored six straight points to pull away late in the set and take a 2-0 lead in the match.  Alvernia put on a run of its own to tie the third set at 18-all, but Stevenson had just enough to stay out in front for a 25-21 win.

Logan McGinley had a match-high nine kills for Alvernia.  Stevenson had a pair of players reach nine kills on the match.  Jon Demeter had 10 digs for Alvernia and Mike Monczewski had 23 assists.

Alvernia continues the season hosting a tri-match on Saturday evening.
