Reading, Pa. (Feb. 16, 2019) - Alvernia University (3-7) swept Neumann University (0-7) 3-0 in a non-conference men's volleyball match Saturday evening at Alvernia.

Spencer Matthews, Victor de Vaila, and Josh Stewart led the Golden Wolves with eight kills each. Aaron Kuhlman had a pair of blocks and Mike Monczewski dished out 28 assists.

The Golden Wolves took control of the first set scoring 10 straight points on Spencer Matthews' serve to take a 16-4 lead. Alvernia eventually closed out a 25-8 win on back-to-back service aces from Josh Stewart.

The Golden Wolves took the second set by a 25-9 final with Victor de Avila warming up in the middle and finishing the set with five kills. Mitch Sterkeburg has his first kills of the season earning points on back-to-back swings late in the set.

Alvernia won the first four points of the third set and never trailed.

Alvernia continues the season on Wednesday hosting conference rival Widener.
