Alvernia Sweeps Widener, 3-0

Reading, Pa. (Feb. 21, 2019) - Alvernia University (4-7, 1-1) leveled its Middle Atlantic Conference schedule with a 3-0 win over Widener University (0-6, 0-5) Thursday evening at Jack McCloskey Court.

Alvernia opened with a 25-14 win in the first set, took a 2-0 lead with a 25-13 win in the second, and closed out the match with a 25-10 win in the third.

Spencer Matthews led the Golden Wolves with six kills. Josh Stewart had five kills and a team-high eight digs.

Alvernia continues the season at a tri-match at Wilkes on Saturday.
