Second Half Spurt Carries Marywood Past Alvernia, 18-8

Taffo, Whitmoyer, and Defibaugh Score Two Each

Reading, Pa. (Mar. 23, 2019) - Marywood University (4-3) scored the first EIGHT goals of the second half on its way to a XX win over Alvernia University (2-5) Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Alvernia.

The Pacers held an 8-4 lead at halftime, scored six goals in the first five minutes of the second half to take control.

Giana Taffo, Erika Whitmoyer, and Brittany Defibaugh scored two each for the Golden Wolves.  Whitmoyer added a pair of assists.

Gwyneth Gleason led the Pacers with four goals.

Katherine Giannaris made 18 saves in net for Alvernia.

Alvernia opens the conference schedule hosting Hood College on Wednesday.
