Hood Tops Alvernia, 15-10

Taffo Scores Four For Alvernia

Reading, Pa. (Mar. 27, 2019) - Hood College (9-1, 1-0) jumped out to an 8-4 lead at halftime en route to a 15-10 win over Alvernia University (2-6, 0-1) Wednesday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth women's lacrosse action at Alvernia.

The Blazers scored five goals in a row to take a 6-1 lead just over 10 minutes into the game.  The Wolves scored two to cut the gap to 6-3, but the Blazers answered with a pair to regain the 5-goal lead.

Alvernia sophomore Gianna Taffo scored just before the halftime horn for the 8-4 score at the break.

The teams traded mini spurts through the second half with Brittany Defibaugh scoring just before the final horn for the 15-10 final.

Taffo lead the way for the Wolves with four goals.  Katharine Giannaras made 13 saves in net for Alvernia.
