Reading, Pa. (Mar. 30, 2019) - Albright College (8-2, 2-0) jumped out to a 14-2 lead at halftime on its way to a 19-7 win over Alvernia University (2-7, 0-2) Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth women's lacrosse at Albright.
The Lions scored 12 goals over the first 12 minutes before Alvernia got on the board with back to back goals form
Erika Whitmoyer and
Gianna Taffo. Â Albright scored two goals in the final 11 minutes of the first half for the 14-2 lead at the break.
Both teams scored five goals in the second half. Â Whitmoyer led Alvernia with three goals and two assists.
Katherine Gianarris and Sam Rothman split time in net and made three saves apiece.
Alvernia continues the season hosting Immaculata on Monday.
