Rachel Judge led Alvernia University (2-0) with five goals as the Golden Wolves downed Lancaster Bible College (0-4) 15-6 on Thursday evening in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Lancaster Bible College.
Alvernia opened the game with four goals in 13 minutes to take the early 4-0 lead.
The Charges got on the board with 16 minutes left in the half to make it 4-1, but the Golden Wolves scored three of the next five goals to close out the half with a 7-3 lead.
Brittany Defibaugh scored the opening goal of the second half to make it 8-3 in favor of Alvernia, but the Chargers scored the next to get within three and make it 8-5 with 23:35 left in the game.
Alvernia held the Chargers to just one goal the rest of the way while scoring seven of their own to close out the 15-6 win.
Judge led Alvernia with five goals, and
Erika Whitmoyer finished with three goals and two assists.
Gianna Taffo also scored three goals for the Golden Wolves.
Kathrine Giannaras and
Samantha Rothman split time in goal. Giannaras picked up the win with four saves, while Rothman finished with three saves.
The Golden Wolves continue their non-conference schedule on Saturday with a road game at Elizabethtown.
