Reading, Pa. (Apr. 23, 2019) - Alvernia University (13-4, 4-1) defeated Arcadia University (7-11, 1-4) by a 7-2 final Tuesday afternoon and locked up a berth in the MAC Commonwealth Women's Tennis Championships.

Messiah College has secured the top seed and Alvernia and Lebanon Valley have also earned a spot with seedings--along with the fourth and final spot--to be determined.

Alvernia jumped out to a 2-1 lead over Arcadia after doubles play on Tuesday and won five of six singles matches to close the match.

Alvernia will wrap up the conference schedule on Saturday at Stevenson and open the MAC Commonwealth Championships with a semifinal match next Wednesday with a site and opponent to be determined.
