Reading, Pa. (Apr. 9, 2019) - Stevenson University (5-7, 4-0) jumped out to an 11-1 lead early and never looked back en route to a 33-4 win over Alvernia University (3-9, 0-4) on Tuesday afternoon at Alvernia.
The Golden Wolves opened the scoring with a goal by
Jarret Abernethy just over 90 seconds into the game, but the Mustangs went on a 10-0 run to close out the quarter with an 11-1 lead.
After a 40 minute weather delay, the Mustangs game out on a 19-1 tear over the 18 minutes of action.
Andrew Ritchie scored a man-up goal for Alvernia with 10:22 left to play to make it 30-3.
The Mustangs scored three of the last four, with
Sam St. Croix get Alvernia on the board for the last time.
Ritchie, Abernethy,
Chris Garcia, and St. Croix all scored a goal for Alvernia.
Jacob O'Donnell played all 60 minutes in net for Alvernia, making 22 saves.
