Swarthmore, Pa. (Aug. 31, 2019) - Alvernia University (1-0) scored three goals after halftime to wrap up a 5-0 win over Rosemont College (0-1) Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's soccer action at Clothier Field.
The Wolves benefited from an own goal in the sixth minute and took a 2-0 lead in the 27th minute when
Trent Rider gathered a ball in the box and scored.
Ryan Kuster intercepted a back pass from the Rosemont defense a few minutes into the second half and finished for a 3-0 lead and freshmen
Ammit Bhogal and
Brody Patmore both scored on free kicks to set the final.
Bhogal scored on a free kick just inside midfield in the 50th minute beating the Rosemont keeper who wandered too far off the line, and Patmore beautifully wrapped a 20-yarder over the wall and under the crossbar in the 69th minute.

Luca Grippi needed just two saves over 90 minutes to record the shutout.
Alvernia is back out on the pitch Sunday playing host Swarthmore College at 4:00 p.m.
