Felicia Getz scored the game-winning goal in the 48th minute to lead Alvernia University (4-2) to a 3-2 win over Wilkes University (3-3) Saturday evening in non-conference field hockey action at Wilkes.
Getz scored twice in the game for Alvernia--her second straight two-goal game--and
Emma Beamesderfer made six saves to earn the win.
Rachael Beemer opened the scoring for Alvernia in the third minute and Getz's first of the game in the 15th minute put the guests up 2-0.
Wilkes scored two goals in just over two minutes midway through the third quarter, and Getz had the only goal of the fourth.
Wilkes played down for much of the fourth quarter collecting a pair of yellow cards after the Getz goal, and the Colonels managed just one shot on two corners in the final 10 minutes.
Alvernia is in the middle of six straight games on the road and travels to Stockton University on Tuesday.
