Stockton, NJ (Sept. 17, 2019) - Stockton University (6-0) scored a golden goal 13 seconds into the second overtime period to top Alvernia University (4-3) 2-1 on Tuesday evening at Stockton.
Stockton opened the scoring just under two minutes into the game when Gianna Morganti sent a hard shot by Alvernia's
Emma Beamesderfer.
50 minutes later, Alvernia broke the scoring drought when
Felicia Getz found
Alyssa Krady in the 52nd minute. Krady controlled the pass from Getz and tapped one by Osprey keeper Emily Gilligan.
Alvernia had five looks over the six minutes of regulation and the first overtime period, but the Golden Wolves could not get one by Gilligan.
Just 13 seconds into the second overtime period, Stockton broke the 1-1 tie when Corinn Guilford sent a shot by Beamesderfer on the opening drive of the second overtime period to top Alvernia 2-1.
