St. Davids, Pa. (Sept. 21, 2019) - Alvernia University (4-3) scored a pair of goals in the first eight minutes and held on for a 2-1 win over Eastern University (3-3) Saturday afternoon in non-conference field hockey action at Eastern.

Felicia Getz scored the opener assisted by Morgan Mondschein in the fifth minute and Mondschein scored unassisted in the eighth minute.

Eastern got on the board in the 32nd minute and Emma Beamesderfer made five saves in the game--four of them in the first quarter--to pick up the win for Alvernia.

The Golden Wolves are now 2-2 in the first four games of six straight on the road and will play at Rowan on Wednesday before opening the MAC Commonwealth schedule at Messiah on Saturday.
