Haverford, Pa. (Sept. 21, 2019) - Haverford College (6-1) scored three first half goals en route to a 3-0 win over Alvernia University (3-3) on Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's soccer action at Haverford.
The Fords opened up the scoring in the 11th minute with a goal from Leanne Ludwick from the 18.
Haverford scored its second goal of the game in the 28th minute after Saede Eftig took advantage of a 2-1 situation to go up 2-1.
The Fords added their third and final goal of the game in the 36th minute with Jacyln Corbin getting the bounce off the crossbar and into net.
Neither team would score in the second half.
The Golden Wolves were held to just two shots, only one of which was on goal.
Alexis Iswalt got off the on-goal attempt in the 88th minute.
Riley Scepansky and
Lily Sankey split time in net for Alvernia. Scepansky made three saves, and Sankey finished with seven saves.
Alvernia has a quick turnaround, and will host FDU-Florham tomorrow at 2:00 PM.
