Devils Get By Golden Wolves, 2-1

Reading, Pa. (Sept. 22, 2019) - FDU Florham (8-0-1) scored a goal in each half to earn the 2-1 win over Alvernia University (3-4) on Sunday afternoon in non-conference women's soccer action at Alvernia.

The Devils opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with Erika Pita taking advantage of a one-on-one situation and beating Alvernia keeper Lily Sankey. 

Late in the 84th minute, Alvernia was carded for a penalty inside the box, resulting in a penalty kick opportunity for the Devils. Dari Lyons took the PK for the Devils and got it by Riley Skepansky, who took over as keeper in the second half. 

Alvernia got on the board in the 86th minute when Alison Hyde was able to get a shot by that was out of range of the Devils keeper, and make it 2-1.

The Golden Wolves were unable to get another shot off as the Devils took the 2-1 win.

Sankey finished with eight saves for the Golden Wolves, and Skepansky finished with two saves.

Alvernia returns to action on Wednesday for a road game against King's College.
