Reading, Pa. (Sept. 28, 2019) - Cabrini University (6-2-1) scored three straight and never looked back on its way to a 3-1 win over Alvernia University (3-6) on Saturday evening in non-conference women's soccer action at Alvernia.
The Cavaliers opened up the scoring when Katelyn Gilinger got by Alvernia keeper
Lily Sankey and had a wide open look at the net in the 19th minute.
Later in the 37th minute, the Cavaliers extended their lead to 2-0 on a goal from Brittany Purdy.
Cabrini added one more in the 59th minute on a goal from Maddy Wojton.
The Golden Wolves spoiled the Cavaliers shutout bid in the 78th minute with a goal from
Eden Jahn, but Alvernia would not get a shot off the rest of the game as the Golden Wolves fell 3-1.
Lily Sankey played 78 minutes and made seven saves.
Riley Scepansky game in as relief, but did not face a shot.
Alvernia hosts Muhlenberg College on Tuesday at 7:00 PM before diving into its MAC Commonwealth schedule on Saturday at Messiah.
