Reading, Pa. (Sept. 4, 2019) - Rutgers-Camden (3-0) scored a golden goal in the seventh minute of overtime to defeat Alvernia University (1-2) 1-0 in non-conference men's soccer action on Wednesday evening at Alvernia. 

The Raptors Skyer Diggs scored off of a one-touch quick pass from Joni Gyyleri at 6:40 in the first overtime to end the game at 1-0.

The entirety of regulation was dominated by both defenses, with both teams getting off seven shots on goal, and Alvernia holding the small advantage in total shots with 15 to the Raptor's 13

The Golden Wolves had two good looks, both on header attempts from Ryan Kuster, to open the overtime period, but one attempt sailed high and the other was saved by Rutgers-Camden keeper Kyler White. 

Both Kuster and Ammit Bhogal led Alvernia's offensive efforts with two shots on goal, with Kuster finishing the night with four total shot attempts. 

Luca Grippi played the entirety of game in net for Alvernia, making six saves on the evening. 

Alvernia returns to action on Saturday at 4:00 PM when the Golden Wolves host Franklin and Marshall.
