Shelton, Conn. (Jan. 11, 2020) - Isabelle Hovel made 49 saves and Joely Griffith scored the first goal of her career as Alvernia University (4-9, 1-2) shutout Post University (8-14, 1-11) by a 2-0 final Saturday afternoon in UCHC women's hockey action at Post.

Griffith scored scored at 7:38 of the second to break a scoreless tie, assisted by Kassidy Heidcamp, and Olivia Gilida scored her team-leading 12th goal of the season a minute before the second intermission for a 2-0 lead.

Hovel made 19 saves in the first, 13 in the second, and added 17 more in the third period to keep Post off the board.

Alvernia split the two-game weekend series with Post and will be back on the road next weekend with games at William Smith and Elmira.
