Reading, Pa. (Jan. 24, 2020) - King's College (2-12, 1-7) scored two goals in the first period en route to a 3-2 win over Alvernia University (4-12, 0-8) on Friday night at Body Zone in Reading, Pa.
The Monarchs lit the lamp first with a power-play goal from Maggie Gould four minutes into the game.
Alvernia evened it up on power-play goal of its six minutes later with
Olivia Gilida finding
Abby Reisinger for the goal.
Four minutes later, the Monarchs tied it back up on another power-play goal, this time from Caitlin Redden. King's would take the 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
The Golden Wolves tied it up for the second time of the night with Gilida scoring a power-play goal of her own six minutes into the second period, with
Alex Robertson and
Amber Steinhilpert assisting.Â
The Monarchs would retake the lead for the final time three minutes later on an even strength goal from Kateri Heithaus.
The Golden Wolves got off late shot attempts in the third period, but would be unable to equalize.Â
