Reading, Pa. (Feb. 19, 2020) - DeSales University (1-0) scored four straight goals to break a 14-all tie in an 18-15 win over Alvernia University (0-1) Wednesday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Alvernia.

Alvernia sophomore Erika Whitmoyer scored give goals and tied Alvernia's single game record with five assists.  Allison Bainbridge had five assists in a game twice (April 21, 2010 vs Lebanon Valley and May 12, 2010 vs Frostburg State).

Alvernia scored three straight goals in about a two-minute stretch midway through the second half to take a 13-12 lead, then after two straight from DeSales, Whitmoyer scored her fifth of the game to tie the score at 14-14 with 5:55 to play.

DeSales won back-to-back draw controls and scored twice in a 30-second span for a 16-14 lead.  The gap grew to 18-14 after two more DeSales goals in a 50-second stretch.

Bridget Reynolds scored for Alvernia to break the DeSales streak with 3:23 to play, but the Bulldogs took the ensuing draw and carried possession until the clock ran under a minute left.

Kasey Fox made seven saves in net for the Golden Wolves in her collegiate debut.

Alvernia continues the season on Monday at Goucher.
