Arlington, Va. (March 4, 2020) - Marymount University (5-0) scored ten goals in each half en route to a 20-12 win over Alvernia University (1-3) on Wednesday evening at Marymount.

The Saints opened the game with three straight goals before Alvernia made it 3-1 with a goal from Alyson Keene five minutes into the game.

Alvernia would be held scoreless over the next twelve minutes as Marymount tacked on two more goals. The Golden Wolves then made it 5-2 with Keene's second goal of the game.

The Saints and Golden Wolves then traded two goal sets to keep it a three point lead in favor of the Saints with 9:03 remaining in the first half.

Marymount outscored Alvernia 3-1 over the final nine minutes of the half to make it 10-5 going into the half.

The Saints extended their lead up to 12-5 after scoring the opening two goals of the second half before Brittany Defibaugh made it 12-6 with a goal with 25 minutes remaining in the game.

After a Saints goal with 22 minutes remaining, Alvernia put together a string of three straight goals to cut Marymount's lead down to 13-9.

The Golden Wolves would not get any closer as the Saints closed out the game on a 7-3 run.

Keene and Defibaugh finished with four goals each to lead Alvernia's offense. 

Kasey Fox made 13 saves in 60 minutes of action in goal for Alvernia.

The Golden Wolves return home on Wednesday, March 11th for a 4:00 PM game against Wilkes.
