Women's Soccer Releases 2020 Schedule

Women's Soccer 2020 Schedule

Reading, Pa. (June 5, 2020) – Alvernia University’s Women’s Soccer announced on Friday its schedule for the upcoming 2020 season.

 Alvernia is coming off a 3-16 season in 2019.

Alvernia’s season is set to get underway on Tuesday, September 1st with a 4:00 PM game against Montclair State. The game is set to be the first game of the entire Fall 2020 season and is followed by Men’s Soccer’s season opener at 7:00 PM against Marymount.

The Golden Wolves then hit the road on Thursday, September 3rd against Rowan University.

Alvernia heads to Madison, New Jersey on Saturday, September 5th to face FDU Florham, and the Golden Wolves continue their New Jersey road trip on Wednesday, September 9th when they face Rutgers-Camden.

The Golden Wolves return home on Saturday, September 12th to host Gwynedd Mercy before heading back on the road for games at Lancaster Bible on September 16th and at Immaculata on September 19th.

Alvernia then plays back to back games on Tuesday, September 22nd and Wednesday, September 23rd with games against Goucher College and King’s College.

 The Golden Wolves head to Muhlenberg college on September 30th before opening their MAC Commonwealth schedule on Saturday, October 3rd at Hood College.

 After heading to Lebanon Valley on October 6th, Alvernia hosts defending MAC Commonwealth Champion Messiah College on Friday, October 9th to kick off Homecoming and Family Weekend.

The Golden Wolves then host crosstown rival Albright College on Wednesday, October 14th at 7:00 PM.

On Saturday, October 17th, Alvernia takes on York College in a first time MAC Commonwealth meeting. The Spartans join the MAC Commonwealth for the 2020-21 season after leaving the Capital Athletic Conference.

The Golden Wolves then host Eastern in another first-time MAC Commonwealth matchup on Tuesday, October 20th. Eastern joins the MAC Commonwealth after a restructuring of the conference that sent Lycoming and Arcadia to the MAC Freedom. 

Alvernia takes a break from MAC Commonwealth play on Saturday, October 24th with a road game against Cabrini.

Alvernia heads to Widener for its final road game of the year on October 28th and then closes out its regular season on Saturday, October 31st with a home game against Stevenson. 

The Golden Wolves graduated four seniors in Alison Hyde, Lauren Gough, Taylor Gough, and Kayla McNamee. The leading returning scorer for Alvernia is rising senior Kyla Gibson, who scored three goals on the year in 2019.
