Isabel Fries led Alvernia Women's Cross Country to an 11th place finish on Saturday morning at the DeSales Invitational.
Fries took 32nd overall with a 6k time of 24:48.9, just three seconds behind the 31st place finisher, which was a personal record for Fries, who previously ran a 25:33.9.
Finishing in second for Alvernia and 49th overall was
Kira Angstadt, who recorded a time of 25:30.2. That was her first 6k ran at the collegiate level.
Kennedy Waterson (26:21.3) and
Paige McKenna (26:30.2) finished within nine seconds of each taking a third and fourth-place finish for Alvernia.
Rounding out the morning for the Golden Wolves was
Marlena Okurowski (28:23.7), Mackenzie St. Pierre (29:20.1), and
Melena Musgrove (34:41.6). Alvernia returns to action on Saturday, October 16, at Rowan University.
