Reading, Pa. (March 17, 2021) - Alvernia University (6-2, 6-2) fell to Arcadia University (5-3, 5-3) 3-0 to sweep the season series on Wednesday night in MAC Men's Volleyball action at Alvernia.

The Knights started the match with a 25-18 first set victory. The two teams traded points early on in the set before Arcadia went on a 6-0 run to jump to a 14-9 lead. Alvernia got back within four later in the set, 21-17, but the Knights scored four of the final five points for the 25-18 first set win.

In set two of the night, Arcadia and Alvernia were locked at 3-3 early before the Knights strung off four straight to pull ahead 7-3. After Alvernia got one back, Arcadia extended its lead to 10-4. The Knights held a steady lead the remainder of the set to take the 25-17 second set win.

The Golden Wolves held an early third set lead, 12-8, over the Knights. But, Arcadia went on a 6-2 run to tie it at 14-14. The teams traded the lead until Arcadia knocked off three straight points to go ahead 22-18. After Alvernia got one back, The Knights scored on three straight kills for the 25-18 set win and 3-0 match win.

Tyler Anderson led Alvernia with nine kills on 30 attacks and Victor de Avila finished with six kills on 14 attacks. Jonny Ortega finished with eight digs for Alvernia and Ethyn Burczyk finished with 24 assists.

Alvernia returns to action on Saturday for a doubleheader at Stevenson.
