Florham, NJ (March 31, 2021) - Alvernia University (2-4) fell to FDU-Florham (7-0) 20-7 on Wednesday evening in non-conference Women's Lacrosse action at FDU-Florham.

The Devils jumped out to a 4-0 lead after eight minutes, but Alvernia's Erika Whitmoyer put the Golden Wolves on the board with a free position goal. 

Haleigh Lackner cut Alvernia's deficit down to two, 4-2, 30 seconds later on a free position goal of her own with just over 19 minutes remaining in the first half. 

FDU-Florham extended its lead back up to three less than a minute later, but Alvernia cut it back down to two on a Gianna Taffo goal with 16:25 remaining the half.

The Devils would then go on an impressive 9-0 run over the next ten minutes to jump out to a 14-3 lead with five minutes remaining in the half.

A goal from Olivia McCambly with just under four minutes remaining stopped the Devils run.

FDU would score one more prior to half to take a 15-4 lead into the half.

The Devils scored the opening four goals of the half to extend their lead to 19-4. 

The Golden Wolves scored three of the final four goals of the game, including two goals from Lackner, as FDU took the 20-7 win.

Lackner led Alvernia's offense with three goals and an assist. Kristen Lake and Kasey Fox split time in net, each making seven saves.

Alvernia returns to action on Saturday morning hosting #19 Messiah in a non-conference matchup at 10:00 AM.
