Reading, Pa. (April 10, 2021) - Alvernia Women's Tennis (1-3) picked up a 9-0 win after shutting out Eastern University (0-2) in Alvernia's MAC Commonwealth opener on Saturday afternoon at Alvernia.

In doubles action to start the day, Alvernia didn't give up a set as #1 Leah Bouchar and Laura Covely, and #2 Leah Kemper and Lily Summerson both picked up 8-0 wins. 

Alvernia then cruised en route to picking up six points in singles action. Bouchard picked up 6-0 and 6-1 wins at #1 singles, and Covely picked up two 6-0 wins at #2 singles. 

Elizabeth Danovich picked up a point at #3 singles with 6-4 and 6-1 wins, and Leah Kemper picked up another point for Alvernia at #4 singles with 6-3 and 6-1 wins.

Jackelyn Checo picked up Alvernia's 8th point of the match with 6-0 and 6-0 wins at #5 singles. Alvernia took #6 singles by default. 

The Golden Wolves return to action on Wednesday at Messiah.
