Reading, Pa. (April 14, 2021)- #9 York College (8-1, 5-1) defeated Alvernia University (3-7, 1-5) 25-3 on Wednesday night in MAC Commonwealth Women's Lacrosse action at Alvernia. 

The Spartans started off the game on an 8-0 run before Natalie Frantz put Alvernia on the board with a free position goal ten minutes into the first half.

Both teams went scoreless for nearly five minutes before York scored its ninth of the game to go up 9-1. 

Alvernia responded with an unassisted goal from Erika Whitmoyer just over a minute later to make it a 9-2 deficit.

The Spartans closed out the half on a 4-0 run to make it 13-2 going into the half.

The Spartans again went on another 8-0 run to open the half and build its lead up to 21-2.

Whitmoyer would score what would end up being Alvernia's final goal of the game with 14:40 remaining as the Spartans scored four in the final 12 minutes for the 25-3 win.

Kasey Fox finished with a career-high 14 saves in net for Alvernia.

Alvernia returns to action on Monday evening hosting Hood College at 6:00 PM.
