Reading, Pa. (April 7, 2021) - Alvernia Women's Lacrosse (2-6, 1-4) fell to Albright College (4-4, 2-3) 19-8 on Wednesday afternoon in MAC COmmonwealth Women's Lacrosse action. 

The Golden Wolves scored the opening two goals of the game with Erika Whitmoyer and Gianna Taffo each scoring to put the Golden Wolves up 2-0 just over four minutes into the game.

The Lions then scored four straight over the next eight minutes to jump ahead to a 4-2 lead.

Alvernia got one back on a Natalie Frantz goal, but the Golden Wolves would be held scoreless the rest of the half as the Lions added nine to take a 12-3 lead into the break.

After the Lions scored the opening goal of the half, Alvernia scored three straight on goals from MacKenzie McKinney, Frantz, and Whitmoyer to cut Alvernia's deficit down to 13-6.

The Lions and Golden Wolves traded goals over the next ten minutes as the Lions continued to hold a seven goal lead, 15-8, with 15:09 remaining.

Alvernia would be held scoreless the rest of the way as the Lions would go on to take the 19-8 win.

Frantz led Alvernia with three goals, and Whitmoyer finished with two goals and an assist.

Kirsten Lake and Kasey Fox split time in net, combining for 16 saves.

Alvernia returns to action on Saturday at Arcadia.
