Bethlehem, Pa. (September 14, 2021) - Alvernia University (2-3) fell to Moravian College (4-1) in a 3-1 decision on Tuesday night in non-conference field hockey action at Moravian. 

The Greyhounds got on the board first with a goal coming off of a scramble in front of Alvernia's cage that Moravian's Ava Edwards was able to get a stick on and fire past Alvernia's goalie. 

The Golden Wolves evened it up on a goal by Hailey Miller off a loose ball in the middle of the circle. Miller was able to get a back-handed shot off and fire it past the goalie with just under three minutes left in the first quarter.

Moravian retook the lead on a tip-in shot with about three minutes left in the half. The Greyhounds then added an insurance goal in the final seconds of the third quarter to go up 3-1. 

Alvernia would get off six shots in the fourth quarter, but were unable to convert.

The Golden Wolves continue their fall season on Saturday night with a home contest against Eastern.
