Reading, Pa. (September 16, 2021) - Elizabethtown College (3-1) needed just one goal as the Blue Jays topped Alvernia University (3-1) in 1-0 decision on Thursday night in non-conference Men's Soccer action at Alvernia.

The Blue Jays got on the board in the 15th minute after Andy Raab found Ryan Hepler positioned near the PK line. Hepler then flicked past the reach of Alvernia keeper Ben Solsky to put the Blue Jays up 1-0.

Alvernia was able to fire off seven shots on goal through the rest of regulation, but the Golden Wolves were unable to connect as they recorded their first loss of the season. 

Solsky played all 90 minutes in net for Alvernia, making two saves.

Alvernia returns to action on Saturday afternoon hosting Eastern Mennonite at 4:00 PM.
