Reading, Pa. (Sept. 18, 2021) - Alvernia University (3-1) scored a goal in each half en route to a 2-0 win over Eastern Mennonite University (0-6) on Saturday evening in non-conference men's soccer action at Alvernia.

Alvernia got on the board in the 43rd minute after Ryan Cogil found the back of the net to put Alvernia up 1-0.

Just under 40 minutes later, Braden Kreider made it a 2-0 game after getting around his defender and firing a shot to the right corner for the 2-0 lead.

EMU was able to fire off one shot in the final ten minutes, but it was well off target as Alvernia came away with the 2-0 win.

Alvernia keeper Ben Solsky picked up his third shutout of the season with a one-save performance. 

Alvernia continues its season on Tuesday at Susquehanna.
