Alvernia Competes At Long/Short Invitational

Carlisle, Pa. (Sept. 25, 2021) - Alvernia's Kennedy Waterson and Isabel Fries led Alvernia to an 11th place finish on Saturday at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational.

Waterson led the Golden Wolves who competed in the 4K while Fries led Alvernia's 6K team.

Waterson finished the 4K in 18:06.644 for an 80th place finish overall. Susanna Pirollo finished one spot back of Waterson with a time of 18:15.821.

Rounding out Alvernia's competitors in the 4K were Sydni McKenna (107th, 18:57.923), Caitlin Sternberg (111th, 19:19.826), and Marlena Okurowski (122nd, 20:08.828).

Alvernia also had three individuals compete in the 6K field. Fries paced them with a time of 25:35.991 to finish in 29th place. Paice McKenna finished second for Alvernia and 74th overall with a time of 27:42.731. Kaitlyn Snyder rounded out Alvernia's competitors with a time of 28:48.348 to finish in 90th place.

Of the teams that competed in both the Long and Short courses, Alvernia finished in 11th place overall.

Alvernia returns to action on October 9th at DeSales.
