Radnor, Pa. (Sept. 30, 2021) - A three-goal first half powered Cabrini University (4-4-1) to a 3-0 win over Alvernia University (3-5) on Thursday night in non-conference women's soccer action at Cabrini.

The Cavaliers took a 1-0 lead in the tenth minute when Maria Hagan made a move around an Alvernia defender at the top of the box and fired a shot into the upper right corner of the net.

Cabrini doubled up on its lead in the 22nd minute when the Cavaliers drew out Alvernia keeper Brynn Bock. The attacker Brynn came out to meet then quickly passed the ball over to Kait Cloud who knocked the ball into an empty net. 

The Cavaliers then scored their third and final goal of the night when a cross was sent in past Bock to an unguarded Anna Bond of Cabrini who was able to deflect the cross into the left side of the net to give Cabrini the 3-0 advantage.

While Alvernia was able to shutout the Cavaliers in the second half, they were unable to make any progress offensively as Cabrini came away with the 3-0 win.

Alvernia was held to just one shot on goal during the contest - a shot by Angelica Key in the 73rd minute - that the Cavaliers were able to save.

Bock played all 90 minutes in net for Alvernia, making five total saves.

The Golden Wolves return to action on Saturday with a home contest against Widener.
